For our cancellation/refund policy on activities, please return to the main page and check each activity.
If you're not happy with any purchase, we want to make it right!
You may return new merchandise, including kayaks and standup paddleboards, within 30 days if it is unused, in new condition and with the original packaging and tags. Items over $500 may incur a 5% charge for credit card fees.
HOW TO START A RETURN
Call us first @ 831 373-5357:
We are open daily 9-5 (with the exception of some holiday periods)
You can also email us at:
store@montereybaykayaks with your order # and photos of the issue (if any),
the reason for the return,if you want a refund or exchange and your preferred shipper
Once we have agreed on how to remedy your issue, we will email you a return label (pre-paid or not) for the carrier of your choice.
You will need to repack the item in its original box and packaging, and then drop it off at your preferred shipping location.
NEXT:
Once we have received and checked the returned item, we will issue refunds/store credit/gift card within 10 business days of receiving the returned item.
We will issue your refund, less the return shipping costs, unless the fault was ours.
REFUND OPTIONS
If the original payment made with a credit card:
Refunds will only be issued to the same credit card used for purchasing the item
If the original payment was made with credit card no longer in use (lost, canceled, or expired): Refunds will only be given with store credit/gift card
Original payment made with store credit/gift card: Refunds will only be given with a new store credit/gift card
In-store purchases made with cash but returned by shipping: If you cannot return an item purchased with cash in person with a receipt, we can only offer you store credit/gift certificate once we have received the item

“Sale” items
Used gear & kayaks/stand-up paddleboards are sold "AS IS". All sales are first come, first serve, and non-returnable (including telephone sales). We highly recommend inspecting them in person before purchase.
If the condition of the returned item is inappropriate (e.g., tags have been removed or there are signs of wear). And we’re unable to put it back into stock, we may not be able to accept your return, and we may have to send it back to you without a refund.
